Hannafin Contractors, in association rugby giants, Wasps and Castleford Tigers, are calling on fans to nominate a community hero so they can be recognised for their efforts.
The awards aim to recognise and reward people across the region that have made a significant difference in their local community. It could be a friend, family member, doctor, nurse, teacher, delivery driver, parent or child. To make a nomination, simply tell us what makes this person stand out as going the extra mile for their community.
Hannafin will work closely with both the Wasps and the Tigers, who will host independent hero awards. Both clubs will select four winners each over the coming weeks and share their stories on each of the clubs website and social media channels. The worthy winners will receive hospitality to a match, a signed shirt and a message from a player.
To enter, fans need to email either media@castigers.com or info@wasps.co.uk with the nominee’s name and up to 100 words on what makes this person stand out as a Community Hero. Please ensure you include a contact telephone number too.
Adam Benson, Chief Commercial Officer at Wasps, said: “We are delighted to partner with Hannafin on the company’s Community Hero Awards. While the past few months have been some of the most challenging any of us have ever witnessed, the emergence of incredible stories of communities coming together and supporting one another has been truly inspirational.”
Simon Fox, Castleford Tigers Foundation Community Director said: “This is a magnificent gesture by our partners Hannafin and shows a real commitment to supporting those people who are going above and beyond at an extraordinarily challenging point in history. ‘Community Heroes’ offers us a chance as a club to say a genuine thank you to those people and welcome them to the ever-growing Tigers family.”
Ciaran Considine, Head of Business Development at Hannafin Contractors, added: “Having the support of these two fabulous clubs and having the exposure to their vast media presence really does help to amplify the message so that we can attract more nominees and give even greater profile to our very worthy eventual winners. Both clubs have amazing community foundations and do so much within the regions they operate from”
